June 6, 2007 Hi everyone. Hope the chat room is a little more pleasant now. Please don't hesitate to let me know if any of you have problems in there. I've spent what feels like most of the last two days working on changing this corner into a blog. (Charlie's phone sex blog. Pretty funny, huh?) I'm pretty proud of what I've done so far, but I don't yet think it looks professional enough for me to hook it up. Someone gave me a little bit of a hard time and told me "Well you're just doing it for SEO reasons." Well, nothing could be farther from the truth. It's going to require a different URL from this page, forcing me to change every link to it on the site. It's going to have a lot of external links to it that I'll have to try to get people to change (and of course they'll never ALL get changed). It's going to make the search engine spiders look for more pages that don't exist anymore, and that won't help. It will hurt. I'll have to set up a redirect to it that won't annoy the search engines too much. That will be a job all by itself. I don't know which type of redirect they like best this month (that stuff changes all the time). It will probably be some annoying thing that I have to put in .htaccess and refer to symbolic links and the rewrite rule and ick I barely want to think about it. I am going to need either some programs (graphic ones and page layout ones) to make it look as professional as I want it. I'll probably play a while more, be proud of what I've learned, and then go to our super web designer for help. It's ok though. All knowledge is good. By the way, anyone who does have a blog is welcome to tell me which program they use. I have been working with Nucleus, which is what BCB Confidential ran on. But I'm not happy with their selection of other skins. I am considering trying Wordpress. If anyone runs a program they're really happy with, please let me know. You can always write to me at charlie@baycityblues.com. I'd love to know what people think is the best blog to use. I've cut down on the amount of applications from potential operators that I'm following up on for the summer. This is mostly because Donna is going to be away for at least a month, and damn busy until then, and she's much better at I am at some of what's required to set people up. I did do one interview today, though. I liked her and invited her to join us. We'll see if she's able to do everything necessary. I hope so, because I think you'll like her. I know you'll all join me in saying bye to Shelby. I'm sorry she had to leave, but it was on very good terms, and I wish her good luck with her situation and her future. The door is always open for her to return. On the other hand, we have several girls here who deserve a mention and whom I'm proud to have here. I hope you'll check out Gabrielle and Vanessa, both of whom have received terrific responses from callers. I'd also like to mention del.icio.us one more time. Everyone who's joined seems to enjoy it so far, and it's given us a great way to share links. Callers are now joining our network as well as girls. Please come and sign up (it only takes a moment) and join our network. You can easily add me (I'm charliebcb), and once you do that, I'll add you back, and you can become part of our growing network. See what links our operators and other callers enjoy. Ok it's time for me to figure out a new special now. While wondering where Roger is is a very good question, it's one whose time as our special has passed. Later.
